Our Winter Workshops are designed to help learners understand the importance of foundational executive function and reading skills, and develop strategies to improve them. Classes are customized based on group size and learners’ needs, and cover skills that are essential to literacy and general academic success.
Throughout these workshops, each learner will gain a stronger understanding of how to:
- Look at concepts from multiple perspectives
- Self-advocate to maximize learning
- Organize thoughts and ideas
- Plan their work based on level or priority

The age range depends on the workshop:
- Holiday Stories: Getting to Paragraphs is for grades 3-5.
- Persuasive Writing: From Draft to Done is for grades 6 and up.
- Thinking Through Organization is for grades 3-12.
- Mindset Matters is for grades 3-12.
Our workshops provide an introduction to executive functioning and include tips on how to generalize each theme. Our goal is to heighten learners’ awareness and start guiding them towards independence in each underlying skill as it pertains to academic learning.
- The two reading, writing, and executive function workshops each consist of five days of group instruction.
- The two executive function workshops each consist of four days of group instruction and a one-day parent workshop that includes strategies for home.
