Why Executive Function is Critical to School Success

What to Expect

Our EF Bootcamp Classes are designed to help learners understand the importance of executive function and how to improve these skills. Classes are customized based on group size and learners’ needs, and cover a wide range of foundational executive function skills.

Each Bootcamp includes weekly 60-minute group classes, where your learner will become familiar with executive function concepts and learn strategies to develop corresponding skills. Each week they will also meet one-on-one with an executive function Educational Specialist to generalize the strategies they’ve learned and apply them to their daily activities.

Throughout this class, each learner will gain a stronger understanding of how to:

  • learn how they learn best (metacognition)
  • self-advocate to maximize learning
  • set and reach goals
  • organize time and ideas
  • plan and prioritize
  • manage their time effectively
  • self-monitor their actions
  • self-regulate using personalized tools and a growth mindset.
What Parents are Saying

“If you can point to a word your child either misspelled or misread and he or she is quickly able to correct this mistake, this is an executive function issue, not a skills-based issue.”

Thea Slingland

Head of Educational Services

“Understanding Executive Function and mastering strategies to increase these skills provides opportunities for our learners to grow as individuals, reach personal goals, and excel academically, socially, and personally.”
Rachel Leonard
Education Specialist
“Break down any type of work, life-task, or project deadline into small, manageable pieces. Then, using the Pomodoro technique (and music if you can swing it) is my favorite recommendation to start making progress.”
Elizabeth Boyarsky
Education Specialist

No, the SPARK EF Assessment is not required before enrolling in an EF Bootcamp; however, it is recommended for deeper differentiation within the class. The only prerequisite for the Bootcamp is completion of the Caregiver EF Questionnaire. Ask a Learnfully customer engagement specialist more about this.
Learnfully’s EF Bootcamp provides an introduction to executive functioning and includes tips on how to generalize each week’s theme. Our goal is to heighten learners’ awareness and start guiding them towards independence in each underlying skill.
